Beat the Summer Doldrums!
Are you at wit’s end as the summer draws closer to the start of school?
How about having your kids make some musical instruments?
Here are a few simple ideas…
Tape the lip of a coffee can, put the lid on and tape it down. (I prefer to use plastic tape, since it molds nicely.) Decorate the coffee can by wrapping it with a child’s drawing, cover with clear contact paper … and voila… a home-made drum.
Turn that empty frozen juice or lemonade container into a shaker! Put some cereal in the container, tape the lid down, and shake away!
Make an ocean drum with two plastic disposable plates (the clear ones are great!). Fill one plate with Cheerios or Fruit Loops, place the other plate upside-down over the filled plate (insides of the plates are facing) and tape the plates together. Roll from side to side and it sounds like the ocean!
Have fun!
The Gift of Music ... Always Giving!
The gift of music is one that keeps on giving! We all can think of musical gifts that will be enjoyed ... CDs, music boxes, musical ornaments, tickets to musical programs.
So many times, I hear people say, "Oh, I wish I knew how to sing (or play the piano ... or play the guitar)!"
Chances are you know someone who has said that too!! Imagine how surprised he/she would be if you gave a gift of music lessons?
Or introduce a precious child and his/her family to the wonderful world of childhood music experiences with a gift of Kindermusik program!
These are gifts whose value go beyond measure ... the gift of a lifetime of music! For more information about lessons or Kindermusik, contact us.
